The legal name and address of the party responsible for your personal data will be published in this notice. Until then, you can reach us about privacy through the contact form.

Who is responsible for your data

This privacy notice (aviso de privacidad) covers cdmxapartments.com ("CDMX Apartments", "we", "us"). It is issued under Mexico's Ley Federal de Protección de Datos Personales en Posesión de los Particulares (LFPDPPP) and explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and how you can exercise your rights.

The responsible party's legal name and address will appear at the top of this notice. For any privacy question or request, use our contact form and choose "Something else" as the topic.

Analytics

Google Analytics 4 collects information about your visit through cookies, such as pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location and how you reached the site. See "Cookies and analytics" below.

Financial and sensitive data

Your answers about income and about having an aval relate to your financial situation. We ask for them only to match you with rentals whose requirements you can meet, and by submitting the form you give your express consent to their use for that purpose. We do not ask for sensitive personal data, such as health information, religious beliefs or ethnic origin, so please do not include it in free-text fields. No form on this site asks you to upload identity documents or bank statements.

Why we use it

Primary purposes

These are necessary for the service you asked for:

  • Matching you with Mexico City rentals that are available and whose requirements you can meet.
  • Passing your request to the real estate agent who will help you, and your inquiry to the agent handling a listing you ask about.
  • Replying to your messages and following up on your request.
  • Reviewing properties that owners and agents send us, and contacting them about listing.

Secondary purposes

These are not necessary for the service, and you can object to them:

  • Analytics, to understand how people use the site and improve its content.

You can object at any time by sending a request through the contact form, or by blocking analytics cookies as described below. Objecting does not affect your request or how we help you.

Who we share it with

We share your personal data with third parties only for the primary purposes above:

  • Real estate agents in our network. When you send a match request, we pass your details to one vetted Mexico City agent, not a list of them, so they can check what is available and contact you. When you ask about a specific listing, we share your inquiry with the agent handling that listing.

By submitting a match request or listing inquiry, you consent to this transfer. You can withdraw that consent at any time, as described under "Your ARCO rights".

We also use service providers that host this website, store form submissions, deliver our email and provide analytics (Google). They process data on our behalf and under our instructions. Some of them may store data outside Mexico, including in the United States.

We may also disclose data where Mexican law requires it, for example at the request of a competent authority. We do not sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your request or conversation with us is active, and after that only for as long as needed to meet legal obligations. Then we delete it.

Your ARCO rights

Under the LFPDPPP you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you and how we use it.
  • Rectify it if it is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Cancel it, asking us to delete it from our records.
  • Oppose its use for specific purposes.

You can also withdraw your consent, or ask us to limit how we use or disclose your data.

How to make a request

Send your request through the contact form, choosing "Something else" as the topic. Include:

  • Your full name and the email address you used with us.
  • Which right you want to exercise, and a clear description of the data involved.
  • Anything that helps us find your data, such as which form you used and roughly when.

We will reply by email and may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on the request. We respond within 20 business days, and if the request is granted, we put it into effect within 15 business days after our response.

If you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you can file a complaint with Mexico's federal data protection authority.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to measure visits. It sets cookies in your browser (named _ga, and _ga_ followed by an ID) that let it tell visits apart and see which pages are used. We look at this information in aggregate to improve the site.

The site also keeps two things in your browser's own storage: your language choice (English or Spanish), and, briefly, your answers from the homepage form so the next form can be filled in for you.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's Google Analytics opt-out add-on. The site works without them.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice when the law, our services or the way we handle data changes. The current version is always on this page, with the date of the last update. If we make a significant change, we will say so here.
